What I believe:

I believe that Collin County government should be more accessible. By this, I mean that County Commissioners Court meetings should be held when and where citizens can reasonably attend. As commissioner, I will work to end the current practice of conducting County business at 9:00 a.m. on weekdays in small meeting rooms that cannot accommodate more than a handful of attendees. Minutes of the meetings should be posted on the County's web site. The taxpayer's business should be conducted in full view of the taxpayers.

I believe that fiscal responsibility begins with fiscal accountability. The excessive salaries and job "perks" these Commissioners have granted themselves speaks volumes of their lack of respect for the taxpayer's money.

I believe that any toll established for Highway 121 in Collin County should not become a revenue stream. Tolls should be applied only toward retiring the bonds approved by voters to pay for the road, not for profits for NTTA, The State of Texas, Collin County or foreign management companies... just pay for the road, then tear down the toll plazas!

I believe that our Commissioners should take the lead in seeking consensus for a regional plan of public transportation.

I believe our County Commissioners should lead by word and deed in improving the health care safety net for the working poor and truly indigent residents of Collin County.
