The July 12, 2010 issue of Texas Lawyer has a three page article about the Roachgate scam entitled: "Judge's 'Motion to Quash Illegally Re-Assembled Grand Jury' Granted".

Roach clearly comes off true to life; utterly dishonest. He even claims to have no knowledge of what Harry White is doing.

Milner, Sandoval and White have no comments. They must be very similar people.

This informercial piece of journalism is strictly what this former upright "reporter" (now PR agent writing puff pieces for certain pols and groups like ACCC in the Morning News) is for the birds. Ed Housewright used to be a decent journalist and the DMN used to actually do REPORTING in Collin County.
However, for at least the last year, when it dissected its Collin bureau into two-person teams, and the focus has been blogging and its website, there has been almost NO fruitful reporting on issues of consequence.
Sadly, no "local" media outlet has stepped into the breach because no one has the resources (local advertising) to hire staff and do the proper promotion to get widely read. The last time THAT happened was in 2001 when someone I closely know led the charge for better reporting. Alas, the paper got sold, management didn't want to battle the Big Boys and the rest, they say, is history (or a lack of proper recording of it).

Dear John-boy,How's the weather in New Mexico?Sure is hot here where people try cases.Bet you wouldn't know that since you haven't tried one in years.Bet you can't remember the last time you tried a case ,if ever.Calling defense lawyers names when you don't even come to work is bad bad policy ...Monday morning quarterbacks are a dime a dozen and it's easy to talk crap when you are 12 hours away.I bet you couldn't do even win a jp trial or if you would even know where the jp courthouse is.Too bad your son learned from you and we have to endure your ego through him.Hope you are enjoying the weather in Angel Fire,New Mexico.Sure is hot here with all these whining lawyers trying cases and all.Come see us sometime,I'm sure the taxpayers will buy your gas home.Your friend(although you said you didn't have any I bet you were just funnin' us.)

I think it's pretty arrogant for Judge Roach to seemingly settle the fears of incumbents by suggesting that they ought not "quake in their boots."

I find it presumptuous for someone to assume that anyone currently in an offer in which Mr. Roach has an interest should fear for their tenure.

This man thinks so terribly high of himself.
