In other words, they will need to ram through some sort of new tax in Austin to pay of this boondoggle. The 'or more' is the thing to look at here. Some of still remember the original- now laughable- financial projections on DART.

There is a reason this would be "the first in Texas, and one of the very few in America": this simply DOES NOT WORK, and will turn into nothing but a big money pit.

This is an interesting article. All the existing information I can find about the Cotton Belt indicates it runs into downtown Wylie, not McKinney. I wonder if they want to turn north from Plano or lay new track and take a more direct route.
