DMN - Feuding escalates between Collin County candidates
Feuding escalates between Collin County candidates
Thursday, January 31, 2008
By ED HOUSEWRIGHT / The Dallas Morning News
The feuding keeps escalating in the Joe Jaynes vs. Corbett Howard race for Collin County commissioner.
Mr. Jaynes, the incumbent, accuses Mr. Howard of conducting a smear campaign and making misleading calls to voters.
Mr. Howard, Celina's mayor, charges that Mr. Jaynes isn't a full-time commissioner because he teaches part time at a community college and practices law.
"He makes it sound like I have an office and a shingle," said Mr. Jaynes, who received a law degree in 2004 while in office. "I've done probably a week's worth of lawyering over the past 2½ years."

If so, what about Public Servants that "earn" income from investments, business ventures and such?
Seems unfair that a Public Servant earning an income from a business they own, or other ventures, should receive the same salary as a Public Servant that gave up all just to serve.
Maybe a sliding scale for salaries? That might put some perspective in things and tell us who is really willing to work for the citizens.
BTW; The candidates are welcome at the Collin County Station forums if they wish.
